About Us
Carolyn Considine
Carolyn Considine believes her generation must play an active role in driving fundamental social change. She is the co-founder of a national nonprofit called Meaningful Teens, an organization that provides remote literacy services to hundreds of underserved children and adults across the country. Meaningful Teens partners with many other nonprofits, including Mercy Housing, one of the nation's largest low-income housing organizations. Among other publications, Carolyn was profiled on the Difference Maker segment by KCBS radio and served as one of five panelists interviewed on the California Governor's Office of Volunteering webinar. Separately, Carolyn is the first-ever youth advisor on the Contra Costa County Arts Commission, where she develops art advocacy content for today's youth. During her tenure, Carolyn built a virtual art gallery during COVID that housed artwork from over 100 youth artists across 25 high schools across the county and developed the Justice Murals program. Carolyn conceptualized the Justice Murals program as a vehicle for students to showcase their authentic view of social justice through collaborative art. Carolyn hopes that Justice Murals will inspire others in her generation to have their voices heard on this important societal topic. As Carolyn is fond of saying, we can overcome anything in society when we adopt a "we, not me" mentality.
Carter Considine
Carter Considine co-founded Meaningful Teens and is the founder of Teen Art Market. He is California’s youngest city arts council member in Lafayette. During COVID, he founded a nonprofit called Recycling Now to recycle polypropylene single-use masks and turn them into recycled building material to build owl boxes (used on Gallo’s fields in Modesto) and garden structures. Smart Recycling recently won the EPA's honorable mention in California. Carter volunteers at the San Francisco Mexican Museum and Richmond, CA’s Rosie the Riveter WWII Homefront National Historical Park.
