Together we can change the world, one Justice Mural at a time.

Museum Arsenal, Lviv, Ukraine

Justice Murals in partnership with @mystetskyiarsenal to support Ukrainian art. “These are animated paintings from Arsenal - the biggest Ukrainian art center created at the site of the former Soviet weapons factory. This peaceful choice is symbolic of Ukraine, which has renounced nuclear weapons in 1996, and now is facing multiple war threats from Russia. We want to remain a place for the arts and a creative peaceful country. Support Ukraine; spread the word.”

“Thank you for this exciting project; we feel it is really important and gives us more confidence that people beyond Ukraine care too and share the same values,” Olga Zhuk, Arsenal Art Center.

Institute of Ukraine, Ukraine

ArtLords International Partnership

Omaid Sharifi’s famous murals were recently destroyed in Kabul. In partnership with Omaid’s nonprofit, ArtLords, our goal is to recreate them in the United States and highlight their messages of social justice. Justice Murals’ work includes collaborative art painting with the local Afghans and recent refugees, plus projection art in Afghan communities. By mirroring international art with local execution, we echo key human rights and justice messages that span borders, cultures, and dialects and prove #Art is Unstoppable #So is the human spirit.

Join Justice Murals for a new ArtLords mural recreation on December 10th in Fremont!

Justice Murals Student Based Programs

Justice Murals started as a program for students to collaborate and share their perspectives about social justice through visual art. In addition to the opportunity of creating this work, the murals will travel from school to school and highlight the different perspectives of social justice across these communities.

Campolindo High School, Moraga, CA

Our Work - An example of a completed Justice Mural since displays purple fists in between sketches of people. Words are written throughout the image such as "Peace", "Black Lives Matter", "Stop Asian Hate", and "No more violence".
Black sketched faces appear in between purple fists. "Stand United, Stop The Hate" is written across the image.

Good Morning Campolindo! On this final day of the school year, I wish to share with you an inspiring project by one of our very own students, Carolyn Considine. Campolindo students were asked to submit drawings and words about what social justice means to them. The muralist, Jaz Alexander (as an aside, he is Steph Curry's brother-in-law), took these drawings and helped incorporate them into a mural. Other high schools in the county will be participating in this social justice project in the fall, and these murals will travel from school to school to highlight what social justice means from our student's perspective across the county and beyond. Campolindo is the first high school to pilot this Justice Wall program, and the high school students of the county voices will shine through. As a school community, we have come together to create change. The road is long, and the journey is ongoing, but together, we can accomplish greatness.
Please take care, be well, be safe and be kind,
Ms. Lee (she/her)
Associate Principal Campolindo High School

Project We, Contra Costa County, California

Given the divisiveness in the world these days, collaborative art can send the message that we succeed most in life when working with a “we, not me” mentality.

An in-process picture of a mural for Project We. A painting lies on a blue tarp surrounding my paint supplies including brushes and paint cans.
